Before--awful carpet.Sorry, bloggies for my long absense.....we have been some busy beavers around here. As I mentioned about a month or so ago, we decided to rip out our ugly, cheap carpet and replace it with hardwoods. The result--beautiful and much more functional.

I will never understand the reasoning behind carpet on stairs. Wood is so much more practical and pretty. We've had carpet and it's manageable, but would prefer wood anyday! Great choice, Mer (and Darin).

I'm so jealous! I'm already plotting dark dark wood in our next house. We have all wood floors on all floors, but I want them darker! Yours looks awesome!
